USLS joined the DLSU Alumni Homecoming at DLSU-Taft last March 1, 2008. USLS was invited by DLSU Host Class C'83, through Ms. Chiqui Escareal-Go, "IN THE SPIRIT OF ONE LA SALLE." Br. Achievement Awardee.

De La Salle Alumni Association honored The 2007 DLSAA Lasallian Achievement Awardees last July 12, 2007. The awards were given out during a dinner-programme at the Marilen Gaerlan Conservatory, following a Holy Mass at the Chapel of the Most Blessed Sacrament at DLSU-Manila. USLS’ very own Daniel (Bitay) L. Lacson, Jr. (GS ’61 / HS ’65 / Col ’69) was awarded for his outstanding achievements in community development. Once again, an alumni member has made USLS proud by receiving this recognition! Congratulations, Bitay!

Induction of Officers.

The USLS Bacolod Alumni Association officers for SY 2007-2008 were inducted into office by Br. Ray Suplido FSC on June 30, 2007 at the USLS Alumni Hall.  Arnold (Nicky) Burgos of HS Class ’83 was elected President.

Welcome Br. Ray.

Br. Ray Suplido FSC, new USLS President, was welcomed by the alumni family during cocktails jointly hosted by his classmates of GS ’59 / HS ’63 and the Alumni Association last June 15, 2007 at the USLS Alumni Hall. Eight of his classmates attended, with four others from the USA and Manila sending in their messages of congratulations read that night by Louie Zabaljauregui, HS ’63.  The party was attended by various alumni batch members, the Brothers’ Community and USLS officers.   Alumni Association and Alumni Foundation past presidents / officers led the group in a toast to Br. Ray.

Alumni Golf Tournament.

On May 27, 2007, the awarding ceremonies of this year’s Alumni Golf Tournament hosted by HS ’83, were held at the Negros Occidental Golf & Country Club. The dinner program was an occasion for Br. Ray Suplido FSC to meet many alumni members.

Honoring our Golden Jubilarians

Class   1957 holds the distinction of being the first Golden Jubilarian batch.  Welcome cocktails and exhibits were held on July 5, and the Honoring Rites on July 6 started with a  Mass of the Holy Spirit at the Coliseum.   Rev. Fr. Ebeneser Samonte of College ’57 was the co-celebrant and Br. Ceci Hojilla FSC of GS ‘57 gave the homily.  After the presentation of Jubilarian medallions and pins, Franklin Fuentebella of HS ’57 delivered the response on behalf of the 43 jubilarians present.

Among the July 6 highlights was a dance party --“Golden Moments of the Green & White” featuring Shangrila Makati’s ultimate retro band  “Behind Closed Doors”.   The fund - raising activity for Bacolod Boys Home was jointly sponsored by the Golden Jubilarians and the USLS Bacolod Alumni Foundation, Inc. at the Santuario de La Salle.
