FILM PRODUCTION

From set and prop design to the creation of the appropriate costumes, this course provides both theory and technique in the art of designing for film and television, with an integrated practicum component that presents hands-on experience in accordance with principles learned in class.

TEENAGE IMPROVISATION
Instructor: Eero Martinez/John Arceo
Based on the theatre games of Voila Spolin, this acting technique encourages the workshopper to create scenes from audience suggestions. There is no written script and their work will come from improvising action and dialogue in the framework of games. It is a fun technique that brings the actor from physical and verbal improvisations all the way to creating sketches and short plays.

MOVEMENT FOR CHILDREN
The body is the actor’s main tool. Thus, for children who aspire to learn the craft of acting, movement is a good place to start. Movement is not dancing. Instead, it encourages the workshoppers to utilize the vast potential of their bodies to express emotions and thoughts in service of an acting performance. It leads to self-awareness, confidence and a sense of being comfortable with one’s body as a tool for acting.
