The Busog Lusog Talino partners committed to collaborate to reach at least fifty percent or 447 out of the 893 schools in the province for three years in a planning workshop conducted at the Ledesma Boardroom on September 7.
BLT is currently in eleven percent of the total public elementary schools in the province.
Present during the discussion were stakeholders from nine DepEd divisions, sub local implementing partners, Roxas Foundation, Institute for Negros Development of USLS, and the Jollibee Foundation.
The team aims to decrease the number of undernourished pupils in seven DepEd Divisions based in the province that were named in the DepEd National’s Top 40 Priority Divisions with high incidence of malnutrition in reference to the National Achievement Test (NAT) Ratings.
These includes the divisions of Negros Occidental, Kabankalan City, Cadiz City, Bago City, Sagay City, San Carlos City, and Silay City.
The program is already on its 4th year helping a total of 4,080 undernourished kindergarten to grade 3 pupils of the 102 public elementary school partners in Bacolod, Bago, Cadiz,Candoni, Himamaylan,Hinoba-an, La Carlota, Kabankalan, San Carlos, Sagay, Silay,Talisay, Victorias and the municipalities of Binalbagan, Don Salvador Benedicto, EB Magalona, Hinigaran, Ilog, Isabela, Murcia, Pontevedra.
