Sikat goes to USLS on February 8

The Philippines’ second solar car, Sikat, kicked off last January 12 for a historic 50-day tour across the country. The road show is aimed at promoting the use of solar energy and preparing the team for the 2011 World Solar Car Challenge in Australia. The tour began at the DLSU-Manila grounds, where Sikat and its predecessor, Sinag, were designed and built by Lasallian engineering students and faculty members. It may be recalled that DLSU launched Sinag, the first Philippine solar car, in which it finished 12th among 40 entries in 2007 World Solar Car Challenge. From DLSU, Sikat will proceed to 26 other universities and malls in key cities across the country.

On February 8, Sikat will be featured in an open to the public exhibit at the University of St. La Salle to be hosted by our College of Engineering. Below is the planned schedule of activities:

8:30 Sikat enters USLS campus and exhibit area: fronting Room 10

9:30-12:00 Program at Room 10 (open to selected students and faculty )

                                 - National anthem

                                 - Message
