USLS Research Agenda

USLS RESEARCH AGENDA
AY 2008-2013

For this year, the review of the existing research agenda was spearheaded by the University Research Center (URC). The new institutional research agenda of the University of St. La Salle (USLS) is anchored on its vision of:

“service to the Negrense community, the nation, and humanity in general, by providing quality education, as it works to preserve and enhance all that is good in the Filipino culture, and by helping out people live a life of dignity to the fullest of her capabilities in the context of La Sallian charism of Faith and Zeal; to do everything for God and to attribute all to God”.

In addition, it is aligned with the President’s fundamental goal on knowledge generation and the need to further strengthen the climate of research in the University especially among the faculty and the students and to link the research agenda with the needs of the different stakeholders: students, partner communities in the city, the province and the country.

The new institutional research agenda was drafted and finalized by the URC after receiving inputs from the series of consultation with representatives from the administration, the academic community and the different college research councils. The process of drafting the new institutional research agenda was done by considering the University’s research niche, research facilities and other resources, and the expertise of the faculty members. Local, regional, national issues and research priorities were also incorporated in drafting the new research agenda. In particular, the current agenda acknowledges and integrates the research agenda of the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP).
