ABSTRACT

Motorcycle locking systems are crucial nowadays, given that motorcycle carjacking is common. There are traditional motorcycle locking systems that can provide security, but they can be easily bypassed or broken. Given the lack of an alternative, more secure motorcycle locking system, the study was conducted to develop an innovative motorcycle locking system with kiosk integration and beep card access to provide enhanced security compared to traditional motorcycle locking systems. The design consists of two systems: the kiosk machine for creating a profile and adding credit to your profile, and the clamp machine responsible for securing the motorcycle. The design project utilized a set of programming languages, such as Node. JS, React, Express, Python, and MongoDB are used for the database, and the C language is used to program the microcontrollers. The hardware components included a Raspberry Pi 4, a PIC18f4550 microcontroller, a bill acceptor, an RFID reader, an LCD, a relay, and a linear actuator. The study performed an interview about motorcycle carjacking in Barangay 2, Bacolod City, and based on the results of the interviews and the need for a more secure motorbike locking system, the researchers developed an innovative motorcycle locking system. The kiosk machine was built and tested to ensure accuracy in the ID reading of each RFIS card and the bill acceptor in reading denominations. Following the development and integration of software and hardware, test cases were run in various situations to validate the system's integrity and security, resulting in the design project's success. Ten of the identified participants attested to the functionality and usability of the system. The researchers strongly recommend adding an alarm system to strengthen the system's security further, integrating an SMS module for remote notification of remaining balance or credit, and using additional encryption and authentication mechanisms to strengthen the RFID system's security.
