“APERTURES for HOPE: A Photographic Exhibit for the Benefit of USLS Bahay Pag-asa” brings together photography and philanthropy through the works of four photographers, University of St. La Salle President Br. Kenneth Martinez, JP Yulo, Cheng Yong, and Arj Muñoz.
More than an exhibition of photographs, APERTURES for HOPE invites audiences to see the world through four distinct perspectives while supporting USLS Bahay Pag-asa, an advocacy that Br. Kenneth has championed since proposing its name when the initiative began in 2002. Each photograph offers not only a moment to appreciate, but also an opportunity to contribute to an effort that seeks to create brighter possibilities for the young people served by Bahay Pag-asa.
APERTURES for HOPE will be held from September 9 to 11, 2026, at Porcelanosa Home Store, 2/F NBS Park, 125 Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City, and will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The exhibit is presented in partnership with Porcelanosa Home Store, De La Salle College of St. Benilde, and Billy Mondonedo Photoworks, with proceeds benefiting USLS Bahay Pag-asa.
Through this initiative, each photograph becomes more than an artistic expression. It becomes a means of extending compassion, creating opportunities, and contributing to an advocacy that supports young people in need.
Br. Kenneth Martinez brings his perspective as the University President and nature photography enthusiast, with works shaped by his appreciation for landscapes, light, texture, and everyday moments.
JP Yulo, a graduate of the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging’s Institute of Photography, explores subjects ranging from familiar surroundings to distant destinations. He believes that a good photograph is able to uplift the senses and lure the beholder to another realm.
Cheng Yong, a Singaporean travel photography enthusiast and former Asian Development Bank auditor, documents landscapes, cultures, and people across the world. His work serves as a visual bridge between different corners of the globe.
Professional travel photographer Arj Muñoz draws from more than two decades of experience in visual storytelling, inviting viewers to experience the world not simply as a destination, but as a shared human journey.
Together, the four photographers offer distinct perspectives on the world while sharing a common purpose: to use photography to inspire connection, reflection, and hope.
Guided by the message that “every photograph you bring home helps build hope and change lives,” APERTURES for HOPE demonstrates how art can become a meaningful vehicle for social impact.
