BSCS students wins Best Game Art Direction Award in national contest
Fourth-year BS Computer Science students from the University won the Best Game Art Direction Award in the School Category for their game "TreasureTide," at the recently concluded Philippine Creative Awards for Animation and Games, held on November 30, 2024, in Mandaluyong City.
The team was also recognized as one of the Top 10 finalists in the "GameON" game development challenge under the School Category of the Game Developers Association of the Philippines.
Team Earthlink, composed of Brent Ibanez, Gian Boyero, Patrick Flores, and Jhustin Zamora under the mentorship of CS faculty member Kristian Alarde, addressed the global issue of climate change in their game, focusing on its devastating effects on coastal communities.
The Philippine Creative Awards is an annual event attended by the country’s leading figures in game development and animation. This year, the competition received over 60 entries in game development and 96 entries in film animation.
