Br. Mario Chiarapini FSC, the Director of the Office of Lasallian Charismatic Family, accompanied by Br. Dante Amisola FSC, the Director of the Solidarity and Development Office, visited the University on July 31 and August 1 to deepen the Lasallian charism.

On July 31, Br. Mario and Br. Dante visited St. Joseph School - La Salle, where they held a dialogue with the faculty and staff, followed by a campus tour.

The following day, August 1, they visited the Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center (BPYC), under the care of Br. Edgar Esparagoza FSC, Director of BPYC, where they interacted with the residents and staff before being given a tour of the Granada EcoPark.

After their visit, Br. Mario and Br. Dante held a dialogue at the Museo de La Salle, attended by the key University administrators, led by Chancellor Minnie O. Chua.

Heads and staff of various University offices, as well as University formators from the Basic Education Unit (BEU) and Higher Education Unit (HEU), were also present.

This marks their 12th visit to different Lasallian institutions and schools as part of their mission to deepen the Lasallian charism.

They shared that the Lasallian Charismatic Family was established in September 2024, inspired by the Apostolic Letter of the late Pope Francis, which called on all congregations to share their charism.

Br. Mario explained his role in reaching out to groups, associations, and congregations rooted in the mission of St. John Baptist de La Salle.

He noted that, throughout his visits, he found that the “charism is alive and well in the groups,” and that research shows external associations are growing in parallel with those inside the Institute of the Brothers.

Br. Mario emphasized that all children of St. John Baptist de La Salle who live his mission are equal, regardless of faith, gender, or race.

Recent efforts have focused on strengthening connections within the Lasallian Charismatic Family.

Future priorities emphasize deepening unity among all vocations sharing the Lasallian charism, valuing being Lasallian as much as doing Lasallian works.

The Lasallian Charismatic Family aims to collaborate on projects for the most disadvantaged, improve existing works, and foster mutual support through prayer, dialogue, and shared initiatives, while pursuing a more coordinated approach to education by supporting inclusive, transformative, and learner-centered education for all.

Br. Mario concluded the dialogue with the message: “You are the hope of the Lasallian Mission and Promise.”
