College of Education Students Undertake Teaching Exposure in Indonesia

Jason Cuadra, Center for Marketing and Communications 05 Mar, 2026

Three pre-service teachers from the University’s College of Education are currently in Indonesia for a nearly three-month international classroom exposure at Soegijapranata Catholic University.

Running until March 15, this program allows the students to engage in guided teaching, classroom observations, academic activities, and immersion in an international learning environment.

Representing USLS in the program are Mildred Baging (BESC 4), Dianne Gabiño (BEEN 4) and Pamela Faburada (BESC 4).

The international classroom exposure is part of the College’s teacher education program. It gives students the opportunity to teach in another country and learn from a different education system.

By working with students and teachers in a new academic and cultural environment the students strengthen their teaching strategies, classroom management and cultural understanding, the important skills for today’s global learning environment.

The program is made possible through the University’s partnership with Soegijapranata Catholic University which began in 2019.
