College of Eng’g Holds Math and Science Quizbowl for Senior High School Students

The University’s College of Engineering, in coordination with the Admission and Scholarship Administration Office (ASAO), conducted its Math and Science Quizbowl that brought together selected Senior High School students for an academic competition focused on analytical reasoning and problem-solving on 

The activity forms part of the College’s outreach efforts to engage prospective students and reinforce competencies in core STEM disciplines.

Gaebriel Lancelot R. Ching of St. Scholastica’s Academy of Bacolod City, Inc. emerged as Champion in the Individual Category. Abia Johan K. Uy of Bacolod Tay Tung High School, Inc. placed first runner-up, while Clarence Matthew G. Urot, also from Bacolod Tay Tung High School, Inc., finished second runner-up.

In the School Category, Bacolod Tay Tung High School, Inc. secured the top position, followed by Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School as first runner-up and Negros Occidental National Science High School as second runner-up.

The Quizbowl was designed to strengthen students’ foundations in Mathematics and Science, provide early exposure to engineering-level challenges, and promote academic engagement among participating institutions.
