Lasallian Players win double silvers at the 8th SEA Tchoukball Championships

Philippines Tchoukball Teams bag silver medals last July 12 - 13 at the 8th Southeast Asia Tchoukball Championships at Bangkok, Thailand.

The 8th SEA Tchoukball Championships was held at the Ramkhamhaeng Gymnasium, organized by the Tchoukball Association Thailand. 

The event’s participating countries include the Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia with over 150 representatives and athletes from the said countries. 

With exceptional heart, honor and hustle, both teams advanced to the Finals placing second overall. Their success is attributed to their growing perseverance, passion and puso. 

Placing second on a regional scale shows “the growing prowess” of the Philippine Tchoukball Team, stated the Philippine Embassy in Thailand. 

Representatives from the Philippines included 17 Lasallians composed of Men’s Head Coach James Vergel Jamelo, Men’s Team Manager Francheska Chua and Men’s Team Administrator Jose David Diaz and 14 athletes. 

Men’s Team Lasallian athletes, Judel Roy Lacson, Niel Secondes, Gerard Trabasas, Jet Ho, Jem Ho, Christopher Flores, Joel Su and Victor D’ Lonsod. 

Women’s Team Lasallian athletes, Jurize Jamelo, Aleshanee Despojo, Nadine Crisostomo, Marie Therese Espuerta, Jasmine Juesna and Sherey Baltazar.

The 31 representatives came from the Philippines Tchoukball Team including athletes, Head Coaches, Assistant Head Coach, Team Managers, Team Administrators, Head Delegation and Team Photographers.

Currently Philippines Tchoukball Teams belong in the Top 30 of the world rankings with the Men’s Team ranking 22nd and the Women’s Team ranking 24th. 

This achievement reflects the nation's growing dedication to the sport and marks a promising future for Tchoukball in the Philippines.
