The Negros Island Region (NIR) PRISAA Board recently convened at STI West Negros University to discuss the 2025 results, financial standing, and preparations for the upcoming Regional and National PRISAA Games.
The University of St. La Salle, under the leadership of President Br. Joaquin Severino Martinez FSC, continues to play an active role in regional sports development through his service as Treasurer of the NIR PRISAA Board, which oversees the organization’s financial and strategic planning.
Formed in 2023, NIR PRISAA is now in its second year as a unified association representing schools across Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
Member schools were represented by their respective sports directors, including USLS Institutional Varsity Sports Director Carmela Gamboa, who represented the University.
In 2026, NIR PRISAA is expected to host around 15,000 student-athletes from across the country, with proposed tournaments in beach volleyball, gymnastics, basketball, and table tennis to be held at the USLS.
