The University’s Graduate School welcomed Dr. Emerson Ea as Visiting Professor for the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing program, bringing his global expertise to advance Nursing education for the Academic Year 2025–26.
With over 20 years in academia, Dr. Ea, DNP, APRN, FAAN, is a distinguished alumnus of the University’s College of Nursing, and continues to advance the well-being of Filipino immigrants in the United States, and is known for his contributions in research on aging, health, and hypertension.
He began teaching Philosophy of Nursing Science on July 1, equipping students to strengthen their research skills and improve practices in nursing education and clinical care.
He serves as the Chairperson of the Nursing Department at the New York City College of Technology and Chair of the Kalusugan Coalition, which promotes heart health among Filipino Americans in New York and New Jersey.
Dr. Ea also serves as Co-Investigator of the Community Engagement Core of the NIH P50 Rutgers NYU Center for Asian Health Promotion and Equity (CAHPE).
He earned his Master’s Degree in Adult Health from Long Island University Brooklyn, Doctorate Degree in Nursing Philosophy from Case Western Reserve University, and PhD from Duquesne University.
