Three student leaders from the University of St. La Salle were recently honored for their exceptional leadership and service during the 54th The Outstanding Students (THOS) Awards and the 40th Youth Leadership Excellence Award (YLEA) hosted by JCI Bacolod, Inc. The awarding ceremony took place at CityMall Mandalagan, Bacolod City.
Brian Paul S. Mesada, President of the University Student Government, was named one of the THOS Finalists for 2025. He also received the Best Speaker Award during the THOS Finalists' Forum and was recognized as one of the Youth Leadership Excellence Awardees.
Mariella Ferraris, Governor of the College of Education Student Council, was likewise selected as a THOS Finalist and one of the YLEA recipients for her leadership and achievements.
In addition, Jed Emmanuel M. Reysomo, Finance Editor of The La Salle Yearbook, was awarded the Youth Leadership Excellence Award, completing the list of honored Lasallian leaders.
These student achievers were joined by Dr. Marijoy O. Gaduyon, Dean of Student Affairs, and Mr. June Carl S. Seran, Senior Administrative Assistant for Student Activities, at the awarding ceremony. Their leadership journey was also supported by Ms. Therezandria Y. Subebe, Senior Administrative Assistant for Student Formation.
JCI Bacolod’s THOS and YLEA programs aim to celebrate students who demonstrate excellence in academics, leadership, and civic involvement. By highlighting the accomplishments of young leaders, JCI encourages the youth to take active roles in nation-building and to lead with vision and purpose.
These recognitions serve as a powerful reminder of the impact student leaders can make in shaping their communities and inspiring positive change aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.=
