The University of St. La Salle’s (USLS) Bahay Pag-Asa Youth Center (BPYC) at the Granada Campus in Bacolod City has successfully secured a three-year accreditation from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), with validity until October 2028.

The accreditation, granted by the DSWD Standards Bureau, affirms that BPYC has satisfactorily complied with the standards for Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDA) pursuant to DSWD Memorandum Circular No. 18, series of 2024, and Section 23 of Republic Act No. 4373, or the “An Act to Regulate the Practice of Social Work and the Operation of Social Work Agencies in the Philippines and for Other Purposes,” as amended by Section 4 of Republic Act No. 10847.

BPYC is a residential youth care facility of the University of St. La Salle that provides protective, rehabilitative, and developmental services to children and youth in need of special protection, particularly those in conflict with the law. Anchored on restorative justice and holistic formation, the center supports the reintegration of its residents into their families and communities.

The accredited programs of BPYC include Residential-Based Educational Services, Home Life Services, Medical Services, Recreational Services, Social Legal Services, Spiritual Services, Administrative Services, Psychological Services, and Livelihood Services.

Along with this DSWD Accreditation, BPYC was also able to secure its Certificate of Registration and License to operate.

The University takes pride in this milestone, which affirms the quality and integrity of BPYC’s programs and operations, and further advances its mission of teaching minds, touching hearts, and transforming lives.
