USLS Bahay Pag-asa Among #LightTheWorld Beneficiaries

The University’s Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center (BPYC) received donations formally turned over by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Galo Meetinghouse in Bacolod City on February 18.

#LightTheWorld mobilized approximately 3,000 donors and more than 150 volunteers throughout the Christmas season. This is part of the 2025 Giving Machines campaign, which selected Bacolod as a location for the first time.

Proceeds from the Giving Machines were allocated to partners, including USLS BPYC, to strengthen rehabilitation and formation programs for youth under the Center’s care.

The turnover ceremony was presided over by Elder Carlos G. Revillo Jr., Philippines Area President, and attended by representatives of partner organizations, including Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Inc. and Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Since 2018, the #LightTheWorld Giving Machines have supported communities across the Philippines by encouraging acts of service.

Through this support, the University is able to further strengthen the programs of Bahay Pag-asa and continue caring for the young people entrusted to its guidance.
