In a remarkable feat, the USLS BS Biology graduates of class 2024 won first place for Best Poster Presentation at the 53rd Philippine Society for Microbiology (PSM) National Scientific Convention held from July 18-19, 2024, at Santuario, University of St. La Salle Bacolod. This event brought together the brightest minds in microbiology from across the nation to share their innovative research and groundbreaking discoveries.
The winning poster titled “In Vitro Evaluation of the Stability and Broad-Spectrum Antimicrobial Activity of Uncoated, Industry Grade Silver Particles against Hospital Isolates Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus” bested 8 other entries from top universities in the country. The team comprised of Ameega C. Dionzon (Team Presenter), Jan Kristoffer J. Hinolan, Klara Rafael Beatriz G. Salvador, Samantha L. Tolosa, and Carl Errol Seran (Research Adviser).
