The University’s College of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH) and the Alliance of Tourism Lasallians (ATLAS), participated in the 26th Negros Occidental Provincial Tourism Week through Animo Turismo Tanghalan 2026 – USLS Tourism Hour, held last September 12 at Ayala Malls Capitol Central.
Held in partnership with the Negros Occidental Tourism Division, the event celebrated the creativity, culture, and talents of tourism students while exploring the role of digital technology and artificial intelligence in the tourism industry. Anchored on the theme, “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism,” the program highlighted opportunities to integrate innovation into destination promotion and tourism experiences.
Lasallian tourism students took center stage through performances and creative presentations featuring dance, music, tour guiding, and other tourism-related activities. ATLAS President Ysabelle Juanga also led the Pledge of Responsible Tourism, emphasizing the students’ role as future tourism professionals and stewards of destinations and communities.
Through USLS Tourism Hour, the College of Tourism and Hospitality provides students with opportunities to apply classroom learning, engage with industry partners, and showcase their creativity while promoting local culture and heritage. The initiative further strengthens collaboration between the University and tourism stakeholders in Negros Occidental.
The successful staging of Animo Turismo Tanghalan 2026 reflects the collective efforts of the USLS faculty, staff, students, performers, organizers, ATLAS, and the Negros Occidental Tourism Division. Through such initiatives, the University continues to support experiential learning and encourage students to contribute to the evolving tourism landscape.
