USLS, Frey-Fil Corp partnership marks expansion milestone for Iloilo campus

Marking a milestone in its expansion to Iloilo, the University of St. La Salle held a contract signing with Frey-Fil Corporation on April 7, Feast Day of St. John Baptist de La Salle, at Gateway Hotel in Pavia, formally establishing the firm as the official contractor for the soon-to-rise USLS Iloilo campus.

University administrators, led by President Br. Joaquin Severino Martinez FSC and Chancellor Minnie Chua, together with Francis Frederic Cruz, owner of Frey-Fil Corporation, signed the significant contract.

Prior to the contract signing, the USLS delegation paid a courtesy call on Pavia Mayor Laurence Anthony Gorriceta at the Municipal Mayor’s Office, where they were also welcomed by Vice Mayor Edsel Gerochi and other local officials as part of the University's continued engagement with the local community.

“There is no real progress without challenge,” Martinez said during the visit.

“The challenge we face is not only local but global , the challenge of education. Addressing this means not just providing classrooms, but creating an ecosystem rooted in formation and values that empower individuals to serve their communities. That is our philosophy, ” he added.

The USLS - Iloilo Campus is part of a larger partnership with the Property Company of Friends Inc. (Profriends), which made a significant contribution to the construction of the campus’ academic building.

Designed by The SAGE Group under Architect Duke Sage, the Iloilo campus in Pavia will primarily offer business-related programs aimed at addressing the region’s growing demand for quality education.

The University’s expansion into Iloilo marks a significant milestone in its over 70-year history, reinforcing its mission to provide accessible, quality Lasallian education across Western Visayas and beyond.
