USLS-IS student takes home Bronze Medal at the International Math Open for Young Achievers (IMOYA)

Alliyah Nicole S. Calo-oy (9B) of the University of St. La Salle Integrated School takes home the Bronze Medal at the 2019 International Mathematics Open for Young Achievers (IMOYA) held at Park Royal Beach Road, Singapore from 13 – 16 September 2019. 

 

IMOYA, hosted by the Skillshare based in Singapore, can be a fundamental step

where students become intuitively aware, conceptualized to recall information as they work individually or as a team utilizing their experience, knowledge and skill to solve mathematics problems and is open to middle primary, upper primary, junior high school, intermediate and senior high school students.

 

This year, the Philippines bringing a total of 132 students grabbed 21 gold, 36 silver, 63 bronze medals including a champion trophy for the Philippine team 2 in the group contest. Young Filipino math wizards garnering a whooping 120 medals. 

 

IMOYA 2019 drew close to 500 students from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
