USLS debuts at inaugural Negros Island PRISAA with most delegates

The University of St. La Salle is one of the twelve educational institutions in the region debuting in the inaugural Negros Island Private Schools Athletic Association (NIPRISAA) meet happening from April 25- 30 in Bacolod City.

A grand opening ceremony, filled with festivities and a variety of performances, welcomed participating schools, with USLS boasting the largest delegation of 200 participants at the event held on April 26 at STI West Negros University.

The establishment of the NIPRISAA comes after the PRISAA national board approved the establishment of the new regional organization in anticipation of the formation of the Negros Island Region (NIR), which will comprise of the Negros Islands and the province of Siquijor. 

With the establishment of the NIPRISAA, USLS stands in solidarity with other member institutions in putting front and center the University’s commitment to sportsmanship, excellence, and camaraderie. 

USLS President Br. Joaquin Severino S. Martinez FSC emphasized his strong support for NIPRISAA and looks forward to its development in the coming years. 

"As stewards of education and community, we stand ready to embrace NIPRISAA, fostering solidarity and nurturing talent across the Negros Islands,” the Brother President said. 

The University’s La Salle Stingers are participating in multi-sporting events including athletics, badminton, basketball, taekwondo, volleyball, among many others. 

USLS is also joining in various cultural competitions including oration, dancesports, and the Mutya ng NIPRISAA.

Participants who emerge victorious in the six-day regional elimination rounds will earn the chance to compete at the national level.

The other participating institutions are Colegio De Sta. Ana De Victorias, Colegio De Santa Catalina De Alejandria, Colegio San Agustin - Bacolod, Foundation University, John B. Colleges Foundation - Bacolod, La Consolacion College - Bacolod, North Negros College, Southland College, STI West Negros University, University of Negros Occidental Recoletos, and VMA Global College.
