USLS holds blessing ceremony for new Chapel of the Ascension; honors Sarrosa family
A new chapel located at the Professional School Building was blessed and had its dedication marker unveiled during a ceremony held on Nov. 18.
The Chapel of the Ascension is a gift to the Lasallian community by Mr. Edgar (+) & Mrs. Sonia Sarrosa and family.
In her message, Mrs. Sarrosa mentioned that they are “blessed to be a blessing and gifted to give.”
University President and Chancellor Br. Joaquin Severino Martinez FSC, D.Min. also presented a Plaque of Appreciation to the Sarrosa family for their generous donation for the construction of the Chapel of the Ascension.
Also present during the ceremony were friends of the Sarrosa family and other University administrators led by Vice Chancellor for Mission and Development Br. Normandy Dujunco FSC, DTh.
After the blessing and the unveiling of the dedication marker, a mass was held and celebrated by University Chaplain Fr. Jerryvel Celestial.
With the blessing of the new chapel, members of the Lasallian community, especially students, faculty and staff from the College of Law, College of Medicine and the Graduate School will now have a solemn venue for prayer and reflection.
The Chapel of the Ascension was designed by Architect Francis de los Reyes of Frasso with additional furniture donated by Mr. Samuel Musang Jr. Construction c/o Metro Dyna and Mr. Wayne Lao.
