USLS hosts 3rd National RPLP Research Mentoring Program

The University, through the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies of the College of Arts and Sciences, co-hosts the 3rd National Conference of the Religion and Public Life in the Philippines (RPLP) Research Mentoring Program, from January 9-11, 2025.

RPLP is a two-year mentoring program (2023-2025) and a project of the British Academy, through the leadership of Professor Emma Tomalin of the University of Leeds, and Dr Jayeel Cornelio of the Ateneo de Manila University. The program aims to equip participants with the skills to establish themselves as influential scholars with international reach. The mentoring scheme is designed to develop competencies in designing interdisciplinary projects, produce scholarly manuscripts for submission to peer reviewed journals, and communicate research findings to the public and other non-academic audiences.

Two faculty members from the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Dr. Barry John Belen and Dr. Ronnie Lizada are among the 21 participants who were chosen from the various applicants who submitted their research proposals, coming from several universities across the Philippines. These research faculties are expected to participate in this conference. The session is held at the Balay Kalinungan, on the specified dates.
