USLS to Bestow Institutional Honors on Gov. Lacson, Sarrosa

Center for Marketing and Communications 21 Jan, 2026

The University of St. La Salle (USLS), through its Board of Trustees, will confer two of its highest institutional honors, the Signum Lasallianum Award and the Fides Award—on January 23 at the Santuario de La Salle.

The Signum Lasallianum Award, bestowed on individuals whose leadership and public service reflect the values and mission of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, will be conferred on Governor Eugenio Jose “Bong” Villarreal Lacson for his sustained commitment to education, youth and sports development, skills training, and good governance in Negros Occidental.

The Fides Award, which honors a life of faith expressed through humble service and communion in mission, will be conferred on Sonia Marañon Sarrosa for her quiet yet enduring witness of faith through support for churches and social ministries, advocacy for care of creation, strengthening of family life, scholarship assistance to students in need, and partnership with the De La Salle Brothers in Lasallian initiatives.

The rites will be attended by the members of the Board of Trustees, University administrators, the De La Salle Brothers, invited guests, and members of the Lasallian community.
