The Yu An Log College of Business and Accountancy (YAL-CBA) of the University through its academic club, the Junior Institute of System Analysts and Management Accountants (JISAMA), held the 2026 Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Conference on October 10, 2026, at the Santuario De La Salle. The conference brought together students from USLS and Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) to explore professional opportunities in management accounting.
The event highlighted the globally recognized Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification offered by IMA, a professional organization dedicated to advancing the management accounting profession through continuing education, professional development, and ethical standards. It also celebrated the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between USLS and IMA on April 10, 2026.
Serving as speakers were Ms. Hanilore Fabul, CLSSYB, CPAE, Assistant Manager for Business and Partner Relations of IMA Asia Pacific, and Ms. Madeleine Sabares of Insights Financial Review Services. Mr. Paul Lanuza, IMA Philippines Chapter Director, also attended as a distinguished guest. Representing YAL-CBA were Dr. Michael V. Baylosis, Department Chairperson for Management Accounting and Accounting Information System, and Mr. Ronil Garganian, JISAMA Club Moderator.
Through discussions on career pathways and the CMA certification, the conference provided students with insights into professional development and opportunities in management accounting. The partnership also offers students access to professional development programs, networking opportunities with industry leaders, and resources to support their pursuit of the CMA certification.
The collaboration reinforces USLS’s commitment to preparing students for professional careers through industry partnerships and relevant learning opportunities. Through its partnership with IMA, the University continues to strengthen its support for students pursuing internationally recognized credentials and advancing their careers in management accounting.
