The Yu An Log College of Business and Accountancy (YAL-CBA) joined the ASEAN Accounting Educators Summit 2026 (AAES) and ASEAN Accounting Education Workgroup (AAEW) Meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July 17 to 18.
With the theme, “The Digital Green Ledger: Driving ASEAN’s Sustainable Future through Tech-Enabled Accounting,” the event brought together accounting educators to explore how digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, and sustainability reporting are reshaping accounting education and practice.
Sessions highlighted AI governance, ethical digital practices, digital reporting, and emerging AI tools, culminating in a panel discussion on balancing innovation with ethics in building a smarter and more sustainable accounting profession.

The YAL-CBA delegation was led by YAL-CBA Dean Dr. Noreza Causing, Accountancy Program Chair Dr. Leah May Santiago, and Management Accounting and Accounting Information Systems Program Chair Dr. Michael Baylosis, together with Accountancy faculty member Mr. Rienz Barrameda.
Fourth-year Accountancy students Kristel Nacionales, Nicole Hautea, and Julliana Renee Ogapong also joined the delegation, gaining valuable regional exposure to the evolving future of the accounting profession.
