USLS Agribiz recipient of RE system from Capitol

The University of St. La Salle through its Agribusiness Management Program received a renewable energy (RE) system consisting of a 3HP submersible pump and eight 550-W solar panels from the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental on July 4 at the Provincial Capitol.

Governor Eugenio Lacson handed over the RE system to USLS and was received by YAL-CBA Dean Jacqueline Felix and Agribusiness Department Chair Emma Bachinela accompanied by the USLS Vice Chancellor for Mission and Development, Br. Normandy Dujunco.

The province's energy consultant and former governor, Rafael Cosculluela, joined Lacson in highlighting the importance of renewable energy for regional progress.

“With savings from these RE systems, funds can be allocated to more productive uses, benefiting the community,” Lacson stated.

The RE system at the USLS Training Farm in Granada, Bacolod City, will enhance operational efficiency while reducing energy costs, supporting the province's renewable energy promotion.

The secuRE Negros Campaign aims to transition to clean energy, reduce non-renewable dependence, and minimize environmental impacts. This initiative aligns with the Provincial Government's vision of sustainable energy for Negros Occidental by 2030.

USLS is committed to demonstrating that renewable energy is essential for future development.
