Lasallian Computer Engineering student, Ares Daniel Janagap, brought home the gold at the Java Programming Competition at the National CpE Challenge & Student Congress organized by the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (ICpEP).
Ares named National Champion, after competing against students from colleges and universities across the country in one of the competition’s key programming categories.
The National CpE Challenge brings together Computer Engineering students to test their technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. This year’s event carried the theme, “ICPEP Connect Beyond Boundaries — Empowering Digital Engineering in the Era of Virtual Innovation,” focusing on the growing role of digital engineering and software development.
Janagap represented USLS under the guidance of Coach Jeffrey Fuentes during the national competition.
The College of Engineering commended Janagap for exemplifying the values and competencies.
“Ares, your victory is a testament to the rigorous training and innovative spirit fostered within our Computer Engineering department. You have not only mastered the syntax of Java but have also demonstrated the problem-solving mindset that defines a Lasallian leader,” the College shared.
The achievement marks another milestone for USLS in national academic competitions and highlights the University’s continuing efforts to prepare students for the demands of the technology and engineering field.
