USLS Law Alum wins Dissertation Writing Tilt
The USLS College of Law proudly congratulates Rachel Lois B. Gella, Juris Doctor Batch 2024, for winning First Place in the Foundation for Liberty and Prosperity (FLP) Dissertation Writing Contest for A.Y. 2023-2024!
Rachel's outstanding dissertation, entitled "Defining the Legal Role and Liability of Artificial Intelligence in Digital Consent Towards Liberty and Prosperity in the Philippines," is a legal exposition on the evolution of Artificial Intelligence, which has prompted a corresponding shift in the concept of consent, particularly in the context of unseen intrusions formed through digital transactions.
Her insights and findings have the potential to inform future research endeavors and contribute to the advancement of the philosophy of liberty and prosperity.
Rachel was also a multi-awarded mooter, having represented the De La Salle Bacolod twice in the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition, where she won as Top 7 Best Mooter of the 2022 Philippine National Rounds, among other accolades.
Additionally, she served as the Editor-In-Chief of the USLS Law Journal in A.Y. 2022-2023 and received the Best Thesis Award from the College of Law in A.Y. 2023-2024.
The FLP's annual Dissertation Writing Contest, which is funded by the Ayala Group, recognizes and rewards dissertations that best explain and espouse the Foundation's guiding principles.
The contest is open to third-year and fourth-year law students, as well as those pursuing masters of law, MBA, or MS degrees in entrepreneurship, sustainability, management, economics, and business law.
