Aligned to its vision as a premier, responsive learning community, advancing human and Christian education through research, innovation, and social engagement in Asia and the Pacific, in the service of humanity, the University of St. La Salle has established the Research Ethics Review Office (RERO) under the Center for Research and Engagement (CRE) with the goal of ensuring the effective governance of research ethics review processes of researches that involve human participants of the faculty, staff, students in the university and other researchers.
It is also the task of the RERO to ensure that research ethics review system is in adherence to national and international guidelines. As the university commits itself to producing relevant, ethical, and quality research that will benefit the academic and external community and society as a whole, the CRE and the RERO ensure that all research should be conducted with the highest level of ethics, objectivity, fairness and integrity.
This is in adherence to National Ethical Guidelines for Health and Health-related Research (2017, Version 2, March 2018 created by PNHRS and PHREB) and given the university’s commitment to produce relevant, ethical, and quality research that will benefit the academic and external community and society as a whole.
