The Yu An Log - College of Business and Accountancy (YAL-CBA) at the University of St. La Salle is highly recognized for its Level 4 PAASCU accreditation and its designation as a Center of Development in Accountancy from 2010 to 2013. The YAL-CBA is the largest college in the University, known for producing graduates who are in high demand by prestigious institutions and companies in fields such as accountancy, tourism, and hospitality management.

Bachelor of Science
  Accountancy

The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) Program provides general accounting education to students wanting to pursue a professional career in Accountancy in general, and in Public Accounting in particular. It develops the knowledge, skills, and attitude required to pass the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examination.

Accounting Information System

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System (BSAIS) Program provides general accounting education to students wanting to pursue a professional career in Accounting Information System. It develops the knowledge, skills, and attitude that prepare graduates to take assessments leading to certification in Accounting Information Systems given by global professional Accounting Information System organizations. In addition, the Curriculum provides a strong foundation for its graduates to become Certified Accounting Technologists (CAT).

Management Accounting

The Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA) Program provides general accounting education to students wanting to pursue a career in Management Accounting. It develops the knowledge, skills, and attitude that prepare graduates to take assessments leading to certification in Management Accounting given by global professional Management Accounting organizations. Agribusiness

The Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management equips students with fundamental production and management skills to enable them to successfully run an agri-business venture in response to both the social need for food security and the environmental imperative of adopting sustainable and ecologically sound farming practices and models. This will be achieved through a holistic approach characterized by a harmonious and balanced mix of lecture, student-enabling techniques/activities, heavy laboratory activities and as well as carefully supervised processed trips to reputable and successful agribusiness institutions or operations.

Entrepreneurship

The Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship Program prepares students to start and manage their own business. It aims to develop students who are committed to become entrepreneurs. It further hones their skills to identify opportunities, develop and prepare business plans and to start and manage their own business. The BS Entrepreneurship program will help aspiring entrepreneurs acquire the skills, values and attitudes that will increase their chances of success.

Business Administration
  • Major in Business Economics

The program is designed to develop the students’ analytical thinking skills and prepare them to be responsive to current economic issues affecting business environments. The economic theories acquired through various academic exercises coupled with the practicum / on-the-job training activities are expected to enhance their preparation in the field of Business Economics.

  • Major in Marketing Management

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management Program prepares the graduate for careers in marketing, market research, advertising and public relations. The curriculum provides the graduates both the technical skills and competencies required in the field, but also the flexible mindset that is necessary to stay competitive in a constantly changing business environment.

  • Major in Operations Management

The Operations Management program provides students with competencies and skills needed as managers in manufacturing and service oriented businesses. It focuses in managing the processes to produce and distribute products and services. Major overall activities often include product creation, development, production and distribution. Operations Management covers all operations within the organization and related activities including managing purchases, inventory control, quality control, storage, logistics and evaluation. A great deal of focus is on efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
Operations management often includes substantial measurement and analysis of internal processes. Ultimately, the nature of how operations management is carried out in an organization depends very much on the nature of products or services in the organization.

Program Learning Outcomes

In line with the University Mission Statement, the BS and BSBA programs are designed to equip students with basic knowledge and skills required in the different areas of business and management.

At the end of the programs, the students are expected to:

  1. Demonstrate and act in recognition of corporate citizenship, professional, ethical and social responsibility.
  2. Function effectively as a member and/or leader in teams, preferably multi-disciplinary in composition.
  3. Use proper decision tools including information and communication technology, to critically, analytically and creatively solve problems and drive results.
  4. Implement the basic functions of management (such as planning, leading, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling) in various functional areas of business (marketing, accounting,  finance, human  resource,  production  and operations, IT and strategic management)
  5. Engage in independent learning for continual development as a business professional, while generating new knowledge and keeping abreast with the latest developments in the field of business
  6. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
