Museo De La Salle Receives Shulze Sacred Heart and Marian collection

Center for Marketing and Communications 27 Mar, 2026

In a special ceremony, the Museo De La Salle Bacolod formally received the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Collection, entrusted by Mrs. Ana Ma. Shulze y Ruiz de Luzuriaga in honor of Doña Elena Ruiz de Luzuriaga y Sevilla on March 27.

The event shed light on the family’s lasting bond with the Lasallian community and the collection’s significance for faith, heritage, and education. University administrators and members of the Luzuriaga family were present for the formal signing, marking the addition of the collection to USLS' heritage spaces.

In his opening remarks, University President Br. Joaquin Severino Martinez FSC described the occasion as a moment of grace. He noted that the collection is not merely a display of sacred images, but a living testament to faith and enduring relationships that now form part of the University’s shared history.

In a time where sacred images and traditions are often overlooked, the collection stands as a priceless expression of faith, shaped by history, devotion, and personal sacrifice, mentioned by Mr. Claude Shulze during his response message as a representative of the family.

Housed at the Museo de La Salle, the collection will provide students, faculty, and visitors a tangible connection to Filipino traditions, inspiring reflection, dialogue, and appreciation for cultural heritage. It also creates a space where the youth can engage with enduring values beyond the fast-paced, digital world.

Now accessible for future generations, the collection stands as both heritage artifacts and meaningful encounters, inviting the Lasallian community to recognize the lasting significance of faith, tradition, and shared memory.
