Unveiling the Heart of Service: Gianna Angela M. Severino's Red Cross Journey

Meet Gianna Angela M. Severino, a passionate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) student from Liceo De La Salle, carving a remarkable path in humanitarian service. From her early foray into the world of volunteering in Grade 7, Gianna's journey has been marked by dedication and leadership. Currently serving as the President of the Liceo SPRCY (Senior Plus Red Cross Youth) for the academic year 2023-2024, Gianna has accumulated a rich tapestry of experiences, from being a 2-year USLS-IS Governor in the Student Affairs Council to participating in diverse events such as the DRRM Expo and Liceo Spirit Night and partaking in various medical training and leadership development programs.

Gianna's altruistic spirit found its roots in Grade 5 when she joined the First Aiders club out of sheer curiosity. Little did she know that this initial step would lead to a domino effect, propelling her into the role of a prominent student leader. Despite her focus on humanitarian service, Gianna's heart lies in the STEM Strand with a plan to pursue engineering in college, showcasing the versatility of her passions. Beyond her organizational roles, she finds solace in strumming both electric and acoustic guitars and occasionally indulges in photography, proving that a well-rounded individual can excel in diverse domains.

What keeps Gianna going isn't just the act of helping people, but also the connections she forges along the way. As a Lasallian student leader, the opportunity to serve becomes a driving force. The organization goes beyond first aid, engaging in various activities like donation drives and seminars, allowing them to connect with the community on a deeper level.

Despite her significant achievements, Gianna remains humble and grounded. Her service hasn't been without challenges, as she candidly shares moments of burnout and self-doubt. However, with a strong support system comprising family, friends, and fellow officers, she finds the strength to persevere. The constructive feedback she receives from her team serves as a compass, guiding her in steering the organization toward continuous improvement.

For Gianna, the fulfillment derived from her role extends beyond the act of helping people. It's the connections forged along the way that keep her driven. As a Lasallian student leader, she finds purpose in raising awareness about first aid, conducting donation drives, and engaging in seminars that foster community bonds. Her advice to aspiring student volunteers echoes the importance of passion, time management, and the courage to explore new horizons. Gianna's story is a testament to the transformative power of service, illustrating that a heart devoted to making a positive impact can surmount any challenge and inspire others to do the same.
