USLS, SGV Co. Seal Partnership to Advance Learning Through SGV Academy

Center for Marketing and Communications 07 Oct, 2025

The University of St. La Salle is the newest educational institution in the country to join the SGV Academy program, following the formalization of agreements between USLS and the Philippines’ largest multidisciplinary professional services firm, SGV (SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co.), on October 6.

The SGV Academy is an initiative by SGV that aims to bridge the gap between the academe and industry through collaborative learning and professional development.

Through this program, the University’s Yu An Log – College of Business and Accountancy students and faculty will have access to real industry expertise, making learning more practical, relevant, and aligned with professional standards.

As part of the agreement, SGV will extend its support through faculty development programs, guest lectures, part-time teaching engagements for SGV professionals, team-teaching sessions, hands-on workshops, and student internship opportunities until September 2028.

Present during the MOA signing were University administrators led by USLS President Br. Joaquin Severino Martinez FSC, Chancellor Minnie O. Chua, Yu An Log – College of Business and Accountancy Dean Noreza A. Causing, and Accountancy Program Department Chair Leah May M. Santiago.

Representing SGV were SGV Academy Leader Allan W. Ocho, Assurance Partner and Markets Leader for Bacolod and Iloilo Djole S. Garcia, and Assurance Leader Cyril Jasmin B. Valencia.

SGV is the largest multidisciplinary professional services firm in the Philippines, providing integrated solutions that draw on diverse and deep competencies in assurance, tax, strategy and transactions, and consulting services.

This partnership marks another milestone in the University’s ongoing commitment to champion academic excellence and strengthen industry collaboration—empowering Lasallian students to become future-ready professionals grounded in both competence and character.
