USLS, University of Kassel sign MOA for Sustainable Plastic Waste Research

In a significant stride towards addressing the environmental challenges posed by plastic waste, the University of St. La Salle (USLS) and the University of Kassel in Germany formalized a Memorandum of Agreement on December 4, 2023.

The collaboration, centered around the research study titled "Assessment and Management of Plastic Waste Streams and their Leakages in Bacolod City, Philippines" brings together the expertise of faculty researchers from the Chemical Engineering and Materials Engineering Departments of the College of Engineering and Technology at USLS and faculty researchers at the University of Kassel.

The MOA signing ceremony marks the initiation of a collaborative effort aimed at comprehensively assessing the plastic waste landscape in Bacolod City.

With a focus on identifying key sources, understanding waste streams, and developing effective management strategies, the researchers from USLS and the University of Kassel aspire to contribute to the global conversation on sustainable waste management practices.
