USLS names Michael Villanueva OIC for OVCA

The University has appointed Michael S. Villanueva as the Officer in Charge for the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration (OIC-VCA), effective January 4, 2024, according to a memorandum released by the Office of the Chancellor.

Villanueva, a seasoned business professional with over 30 years of experience in various industries, including education, currently serves as a part-time faculty member in the HM Department at USLS.

Prior to joining USLS, he held roles such as Faculty at Brigham Young University Hawaii, Senior Manager at the Polynesian Cultural Center, and Training Manager at Shangrila Mactan Resorts & Spa.

Villanueva holds an undergraduate degree in History Education from BYU Hawaii and a Master's in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University (USA), specializing in Servant Leadership, Strategic and Organizational Communication.

His appointment comes after Dr. Stephanie Calamba stepped down from her position to return as a full-time faculty member of the Yu An Log College of Business and Accountancy.

The University also extends its deepest gratitude to Dr. Calamba for her service to the Lasallian mission as Vice Chancellor.
